Brief

We were asked by Hamleys to provide entertainers for a Comic Book Launch held at their Regent Street Store, on behalf of the Strongbones Children’s Charitable Trust.

Strongbones is set up to help alleviate the pain, suffering and financial burden of families who have children suffering from serious conditions of the bone.

Department of Ability‘ was the first comic book to include disabled superheroes and therefore the charity wanted to create an atmosphere to reflect the key messages in the book.

What we did

We helped to run the 2-hour ‘invite-only’ party entertaining guests, including disabled children and VIPs.

Our 16 “Superheroes” worked the two floors of the party, dressed in multi-coloured Lycra. Entertaining visitors with a variety of skills including stilt walking, juggling, unicycling, magic and balloon modelling.

Highlights

There was an 11% uplift in footfall at the store during the Strongbones event.

Over 300 guests were entertained the party, including guest stars Hannah Cockcroft M.B.E (Paralympian), Sam Ruddock (Paralympian) and Jack Binstead star of TV’s Bad Education!

Reviews of the event included this one from the trustees of the Strongbones Charity: “I have never known entertainers so engaged and fearless with disabled children”.
