Performer Code of Conduct & Conditions of Engagement
At the Ministry of Fun, we take fun seriously, but we also take professionalism, respect, and safety seriously too.
This Code of Conduct keeps everyone safe, legal, happy, and fabulously professional.
Please read it carefully before each job.
OUR VALUES
- Professionalism with Personality: Bring energy, creativity, reliability, professionalism and warmth to every job.
- Respect for All: Treat colleagues, clients, and the public with courtesy, kindness, and patience.
- Safety First: Your safety, and the safety of those around you, always comes before performance.
- Positivity: When you’re on a job, you are the Ministry. Bring good humour, teamwork, and energy at all times.
WHEN REPRESENTING MINISTRY OF FUN (& OUR CLIENTS)
You are the face of Ministry of Fun, and in turn the clients and brands we are working alongside – your attitude, positivity and professionalism reflect our reputation.
- Use common sense and good humour to manage any difficult situations.
- Support your fellow performers – teamwork makes the magic happen.
- Leave every location as tidy and cheerful as you found it.

Employment Status
You are engaged on a self-employed basis. You must therefore:
- Invoice us for your work
- Be responsible for your own tax and NI
Insurance
You are covered under our Public Liability Insurance during MOF jobs. However, you remain responsible for your own personal liability and professional insurance when working on our behalf.
Invoicing & Payments
Invoices are submitted via the MOF performer portal. Please contact us if you are not yet signed up to the portal or having any challenges accessing your information.
Invoices require 1 x job number per invoice, your unique invoice number, the date and agreed fee.
We pay twice a month, typically within 2–4 weeks of the job.
IMPORTANT:
- Payment cut-offs use invoice received date, not job date.
- Late invoices may lead to delayed pay.
- If your bank details change, please update them via the Performer Portal. We will call you to verify any changes
Bookings & Cancellations
When is a job booked? A job counts as booked once we’ve confirmed it with you, either verbally or in writing. A pencil or hold isn’t a booking until we tell you it’s confirmed.
If a client cancels. Every now and then a client cancels a job after you’ve been booked. It’s disappointing for everyone, and we know that for you it can mean a lost day’s income, or another job you turned down to be with us.
When that happens, we’re in your corner. Our client terms include cancellation charges, and we use these as our guide for looking after you too.
The honest bit: every job and every client is different, and we can only pass on what we’re able to recover. So we can’t promise a cancellation fee on every booking. What we can promise is that we’ll always push for one, keep you in the loop, and be fair, reasonable and straight with you about the outcome. Because, as we say at the end of this document, we’ll look after you.
If a job is postponed rather than cancelled, you’ll be first in line for the new date.
If you can’t make a job. Please tell us as early as you possibly can. We know life happens, but late dropouts leave clients and colleagues in a tricky spot.
AND FINALLY… THE SPIRIT OF MOF
We are here to spread joy, laughter and often organised silliness. We expect professionalism, respect and reliability – wrapped in fun.
Performers and suppliers are at the heart of everything we do, and we love and respect them hugely. We will look after you, we promise.
