Brief

We were approached by Bonce PR and Influential on behalf of Camelot to supply performers for an experiential campaign celebrating ‘luck’ throughout the UK.

Dressed as Camelot’s now iconic Butlers they were to travel to five towns over five consecutive days, and deliver ‘random acts of kindness’ to demonstrate how lucky the public could really be!

What we did

Our Butlers visited shops and retailers across the UK and surprised potential lottery winners by treating them to their shopping, paying for beauty treatments, polishing their shoes and generally giving them a taste of what life could be like as a lottery winner.

Shoppers were also given the opportunity to call previous winners for advice on the right numbers to choose for their very own lottery ticket to see if any of their ‘luck’ would rub off. One business in Lichfield even let all of their staff go home early!

Highlights

  • Numerous photo opportunities were created for social media and wider PR use
  • Social media posts had more organic reach than any other similar campaign carried out by the National Lottery
  • Hundreds of members of the public were delighted to receive a free gift, thanks to The National Lottery
  • An online video was created of the activity.
