Brief

To celebrate the opening of Cineworld’s new 11-screen cinema in South Ruislip, Hill & Knowlton asked us to create an exciting art installation.

The state-of-the-art cinema was opening just in time to screen Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ film.  To mark the occasion, Cineworld wanted to create a unique piece of 3D anamorphic floor art.

What we did

We designed the piece within brand guidelines before our resident artist hand-painted a giant canvas with acrylic paints.  The canvas was 4m x 3m and took 72 hours to paint.

Once completed the painting created the illusion that a chasm had opened in the floor revealing another world with Spider-Man swinging heroically out of the scene.

Highlights

  • Over the course of 7 days, our artist hand-painted the image
  • The artwork was installed before the official opening of the cinema in time for the crowds to take pictures and share on Twitter and Facebook
