Brief

Harrods Christmas Grotto is one of the UK’s most prestigious seasonal destinations.  We were delighted to be invited back to help bring the magic to the visiting families.

The 2017 Grotto is very traditional in look with bright reds, lush greens and Harrods bespoke tartan.

We were asked to provide a team of jolly Elves, design and produce costumes & write and produce a mini-show to be performed continuously throughout the day all through December.

What we did

The Christmas Grotto was managed by a team of Magical Elves creating fun with a mixture of balloon modelling, glitter tattoos, contact juggling and close-up magic.

The activities had an inclusive feel with sensory lights and toys in the Outdoor Toy Playground and a funny, interactive performance in the show circle.

Children became ‘trainee elves’ in a bespoke Elf School and helped to create enough magic to save Christmas. They graduated, and were given their Elf badges of honour before being introduced to Father Christmas himself.

Highlights

  • A pool of 20 multi-skilled performers covered the 40 event days with 10 performers per day
